CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
We recommend exploring classes in this order:
Beginners Ashtanga/Beginners Vinyasa, Rocket 1,
All Levels Ashtanga/All Levels Vinyasa, Rocket 2/Power Vinyasa
Beginning Ashtanga The Modified Primary Series as designed by It’s Yoga for the beginner working toward a grounded, transformative Ashtanga Yoga practice. Descriptive guidance of sun salutations, standing and seated postures helps develop strength and an understanding of the intricacies of the Ashtanga practice.
All Levels Ashtanga The Full Primary Series, also known as "Yoga Chikitsa," or Yoga Therapy. This well rounded progression of postures is among the most restorative of all yoga practices! This sequence heals and fortifies the mind, muscles and internal organs. 70 traditional postures are linked together in the same flowing order to teach discipline, awareness and body mechanics while healing the joints and broadening one’s perspective. Our beautiful class is offered like a workshop with weekly opportunities to break down poses and explore breath work, purification techniques, chanting and a guided meditation/visualization.
Beginning Vinyasa A focused flow for new practitioners, teaching the basics of moving the body with breath technique. This descriptive class explores Vinyasa Yoga beyond the Primary Series to bring in supportive postures that help you learn and grow at your own pace while gaining understanding about the joints, muscles and healing properties of each posture.
All Levels Vinyasa Creative variations on the Vinyasa system. Beginning and intermediate levels of standing and seated postures are combined in a fun setting where courage is inspired. This flowing class increases the pace of movement and breath and is tailored to the strength level of the practitioners in attendance. An opportunity to explore flowing yoga more deeply.
Rocket 1 & 2 : An It’s Yoga Exclusive! Strong, fun and fluid classes designed to boost your practice and take you to the next level!
1 is a beginner friendly practice, where we focus on the standing sequence as a way of enhancing endurance.
2 is a quickly paced combination of standing and seated postures that is fun for practitioners who desire a strong sequence to open the mind and detoxify the body.
Pranic Power: Creative variations on the Vinyasa system focused on intensity of rhythm, taking the breath-body connection to peak performance. Like Rocket, this class is quickly paced, but maintains an intention of helping practitioners evolve to the next level. Uniquely sequenced standing balances, arm balances and inversions are linked with traditional postures to support a moving meditation and a vigorous physical work out to clear the mind and open the body. The sequences practiced in these classes are designed to suit the needs of the students present.
Dragon Vinyasa is an exercise system that is devised to increase breath control, flexibility, strength, balance, and mental clarity. It combines the ancient techniques of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with a mixture of Martial Art Forms. The benefit of this combination gives practitioners a unique way of conditioning the body, while at the same time learning self-defensive maneuvers, and the distinctive techniques of breath control used in each system. These classes are a fun way to build lean strong‚ flexible muscles. Our motto is - Inhale life, exhale peace.
The classes are designed as a fun approach to Ashtanga for Yogis and Yoginis, and a useful tool for Martial Artists to increase their balance, and flexibility. If you have never experienced yoga or martial arts, then this class is an excellent foray into either system and is presented in a safe environment.
